Course Description:
This course will examine the raise and evolution of modernity in architecture, from its pre-modern origins in the XIX century, to the turn of the XX century and the present time, following a chronological trajectory across ideas, technical evolution and cultural changes. Though dealing primarily with the iconic work of the great masters of modern architecture in Europe and North America, the course will expound the spread of modernism and post-modernist within a global context, disclosing the relations between the legacy of Modernism and the current architectural practices.
