Course Description
Is art criticism a dying form, or is it more relevant than ever before? What are the best strategies for researching, conducting, writing and publishing a memorable artist interview? How is it possible to effectively build a following as an arts and culture writer?
This introductory course will be made up of both lectures and practical writing exercises. First, the instructor will present an overview of the history of art writing and criticism, grounding the expanding UAE art ecosystem in context. The course will culminate in a “crash course” offering valuable strategies for building a strong portfolio and readership.
